The Hong Kong International Film Festival Society (HKIFFS) and NOWNESS Asia, a subsidiary of Meta Media Group, launched the Asian Short Film Fund (ASFF) in 2025 to support emerging Asian filmmakers and nurture visionary talents, promoting the growth of youth filmmaking across the region.
Submissions for the second edition of ASFF are open from today until 5 June 2026. This year, we are honoured to have three distinguished Asian filmmakers as mentors: Lav Diaz, Oh Jung- Wan, and Yeh Ju-Feng.
Ten shortlisted projects will be announced in July. These teams will participate in an online pitch session, where the mentors will select three winning projects. Each winner will receive up to USD $35,000 in funding, along with one‑on‑one mentorship in script development and production from the mentors. 香港國際電影節協會（HKIFFS）於2025年聯同超媒體集團旗下創意平台NOWNESS ASIA共同推出「亞洲短片基金」（ASFF），旨在扶持亞洲新生代影像創作者及具備未來視野的影像人才，推動亞洲地區青年影像創作的發展。
第二屆「亞洲短片基金」將於今日起至6月5日開啟新一輪徵件。今年我們特別邀請到三位具有代表性及風格的亞洲電影製作人擔任導師：拉夫迪亞茲、吳姃琓及葉如芬。
評審團將於今年七月甄選十個入圍企劃參與線上公開提案會，並由三位導師選出三個優勝項目。每個優勝項目將獲得最高35,000美元的資助，並由導師提供劇本開發、技術製作及國際發行等全方位支援。「亞洲短片基金」詳情及報名方法請參閱電影業辦公室網頁。

Lav Diaz
拉夫狄亞茲
Lav Diaz was born in 1958 and raised in Mindanao. He works as a director, writer, producer, editor, cinematographer, poet, composer, production designer, and actor. He is especially notable for the length of his films, which are not governed by time but by space and nature, with some of the longest runtimes standing at eleven hours. His films focus on the social and political struggles of his motherland and have garnered awards at international film festivals. In 2016, his directorial film THE WOMAN WHO LEFT bagged the Golden Lion Prize in the Venice International Film Festival.
拉夫狄亞茲生於1958年，在棉蘭老島長大。他身兼導演、編劇、製片人、剪輯師、攝影師、詩人、作曲家、美術指導及演員。他的電影以時長見稱，不受時間限制，而由空間和自然來界定，其中一些作品片長長達十一小時。他的作品多取材自祖國菲律賓的社會和政治鬥爭。2016年，他執導的電影《離開的女人》在威尼斯國際電影節獲得金獅獎。 |

Producer and founder of Bom Film Productions. Her filmography with Bom Film Productions includes award winning and box office successes such as THE FOUL KING, A TALE OF TWO SISTERS, UNTOLD SCANDAL, A BITTERSWEET LIFE, YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE, WOMAN ON THE BEACH, NIGHT AND DAY, A MAN AND A WOMAN and WONDERLAND.

Yeh Ju-Feng
葉如芬
Producer Yeh Ju-Feng joined the film industry in 1993. In 2013, she was named the Outstanding Taiwanese Filmmaker of the Year at the 50th Golden Horse Awards. Her producing credits include MURMUR OF YOUTH, FLEEING BY NIGHT, WHAT TIME IS IT THERE?, THE WAYWARD CLOUD, WINDS OF SEPTEMBER, RED CLIFF, GF*BF, OUR TIMES, GODSPEED, THE GREAT BUDDHA+, A SUN, MY MISSING VALENTINE, CLASSMATES MINUS, GIRL and many more. In 2025, GIRL, the directorial debut of actress Shu Qi under her production, was selected for the Venice International Film Festival Main Competition. In the same year, A FOGGY TALE, her fourth collaboration with director Chen Yu-Hsun, won Best Feature Film at the Golden Horse Film Festival, along with three additional major awards.
