The 2025 Asian Short Film Fund announces its shortlist and finalist projects today.

Launched jointly by the HKIFF Industry under Hong Kong International Film Festival Society (HKIFFS) and NOWNESS ASIA, a subsidiary of Meta Media Group, the fund officially opened for submissions in May and received a total of 1,013 short film project applications from 46 countries and regions, including Mainland China, Hong Kong, India, Taiwan, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, and Iran.

After more than two months of the selection process, 10 short film projects were shortlisted and participated in an online pitching session in mid-August, where they presented their proposals to the ASFF jury, chaired by Anthony Chen, Stanley Kwan, and Park Ki-Yong. Ultimately, 3 finalist projects were further selected. They are Buried a Dog, Called It Love from Myanmar, She Used to Feel Blue from India, and South of the Silence from China.

The teams behind these three selected projects will travel to Hong Kong, where they will receive further script guidance from the jury members. Each project is also eligible for production funding of up to USD 35,000; the completed short films will be screened at the 50th Hong Kong International Film Festival.

評審團最終選出三部作品,分別是來自緬甸的《Buried a Dog, Called It Love》、印度的《She Used to Feel Blue》及中國的《綠春》(South of the Silence)。
