HKIFF49 ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF FIREBIRD AWARDS AND FIPRESCI PRIZE

香港國際電影節協會今日假香港文化中心大劇院，舉行本年度「火鳥大獎」競賽頒獎典禮。《一匹白馬的熱夢》及《黑之牛》分別勇奪「新秀電影競賽」華語及世界組別的火鳥大獎最佳電影。「紀錄片競賽」及「國際短片競賽」的大獎得主，則分別為《加沙飛躍道》及《我是你的眼》。

The 49th Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF49) announced the Firebird Awards and FIPRESCI Prize winners at a ceremony held this evening at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, with To Kill a Mongolian Horse and Black Ox taking the top prizes in the Young Cinema Competition.

昂然進入第七年，今屆「新秀電影競賽（華語）」火鳥大獎最佳電影殊榮，由姜曉萱執導的《一匹白馬的熱夢》榮獲。此片獲評審團讚揚「在家園，親情，傳統文化的逐步瓦解的過程⋯⋯導演同角色一起，發出了切身的叩問而非和解」。在《植物學家》，景一憑「在視聽美學上達到高度統一的作品，將新疆常見的地域元素與對角色的刻劃自然地融入一起」，勇奪最佳導演桂冠。至於最佳男女演員獎，分別由《世界日出時》的王科及《藍色太陽宮》的吳可熙和徐海鵬奪得，前者把握了角色的情感變化，後者兩人靈動演繹缺一不可，同時獲評審團垂青。

To Kill a Mongolian Horse was named Best Film for the Young Cinema Competition (Chinese Language). The jury commended director Jiang Xiaoxuan for ‘raising heartfelt questions rather than reconciliation’ in face of the gradual disintegration of homeland, family affection, and traditional culture. Jing Yi took home the Best Director kudo with The Botanist, which won acclaim for crafting ‘a highly coherent work in terms of audiovisual aesthetics’. Wang Ke from All Quiet at Sunrise, and Wu Ke-Xi and Xu Haipeng from Blue Sun Palace received the Best Actor and Best Actress awards respectively. The jury praised Wang for skillfully capturing the character's emotional changes, while recognising the dynamic, interactive performances of the two actresses, who are both crucial to the film.

本屆「新秀電影競賽（世界）」火鳥大獎得主是日本導演蔦哲一朗的《黑之牛》。評審團表揚此片「糅合了獨特的哲學與美學觀點、精闢的歷史評論，以及對大自然的生動詮釋」。而最佳導演獎則落在墨西哥導演恩尼斯杜馬蒂斯布西奧身上，他在《五個小孩的魔煙》將「零碎片段得以有條不紊地整合，混亂也能變成詩意」。《陌生的溫柔》的佐治卡巴斯及漢娜舒古拉，分別奪得最佳男女演員獎，兩人同為角色帶來了深度和真實感，互相擦出火花，雙雙獲獎實至名歸。

Of the eight films vying for recognition in the Young Cinema Competition (World) category, Black Ox by Japanese director Tsuta Tetsuichiro was chosen as the Firebird Award winner for ‘combining a distinctive philosophical and aesthetic outlook with incisive historical commentary as well as a vivid evocation of nature’. ‘Chaos can become poetry when the pieces come together in a controlled way’ is the jury’s commendation to Ernesto Martínez Bucio, who garnered the Best Director award with The Devil Smokes. Georges Khabbaz and Hanna Schygulla won the Best Actor and Best Actress awards for their distinguished performances in Yunan, as they both bring depth and authenticity to the characters.

至於「紀錄片競賽」的火鳥大獎得主是《加沙飛躍道》，導演雅蕾蘇艾特「透過片中主角阿密的故事，緩緩地梳理出一條自己與母親連結的感情線」，得到評審團青睞。安迪斯維爾艾執導的《公審萊芬斯坦》「教我們不得不重新審視過去與現在的複雜關係」，獲頒發評審團獎。

In the Documentary Competition, the jury awarded the Firebird Award to Yalla Parkour by Areeb Zuaiter, commending the director for ‘slowly composing an emotional line connecting herself and her mother’. Andres Veiel’s Riefenstahl took the Jury Prize for ‘compelling us to re-examine the complex relationships between the past and the present’.

在「國際短片競賽」18部入圍作品當中，法國導演尼古拉斯古洛的《我是你的眼》脫穎而出，勇奪火鳥大獎，獲評審團讚揚「其調查、解註及實驗處理精準且勾喚共感」。蕾莎嘉拉吉安及羅莎卡迪娜合導的《若水之下》因予人強烈而真摯的情感，獲頒評審團獎。

For its precise and empathetic investigation, annotation and experimentation, Their Eyes by French director Nicolas Gourault received the Firebird Award in the Short Film Competition. The Jury Prize went to Anba Dlo co-directed by Luiza Calagian and Rosa Caldeira, whose film gives us strong sincere feelings.

今年的「國際影評人聯盟獎」由景一的《植物學家》奪得，三位評審一致認為影片「透過小孩的目光和內心獨白，淡淡而清明地描寫土地和人在傳統與現代間的變遷」，故予以嘉許。

為期12日的第四十九屆香港國際電影節將於明天閉幕，今屆放映了來自69個國家和地區近200部精彩電影。

Jing Yi’s The Botanist was also the pick of the FIPRESCI Prize jury for it is ‘a beautifully cinematic introduction to Kazakh culture... told with subtle awareness through the eyes and voice of a young boy’.

The 12-day HKIFF49 will conclude tomorrow, after showcasing close to 200 films from 69 countries and regions.
